IBM SurePOS 700 Latest Platform for 360Commerce Software Solution
360Commerce Provides Retailers with More Platform Options Than Any Other Vendor
Austin, Texas (December 29, 2003) – 360Commerce, a leading provider of integrated commerce software for retailers, announced today that their store optimization software is now running on IBM’s newest platform, the SurePOS™ 700. The combination of 360Store™ Point-of-Sale and Back Office applications running on the SurePOS 700 will be available for demonstration at the upcoming National Retail Federation (NRF) Conference, January 11-14, 2004, at the 360Commerce booth #443.
Adding the SurePOS 700 to the list of hardware options, including IBM SurePOS 300, 500, 600, and 750 series, IBM 4694, Wincor Nixdorf Beetle /M and /S, UTC UT810-i, and Fujitsu TeamPoS 5000 and 2000, provides 360Commerce customers with freedom-of-choice and the ability to leverage existing assets to help minimize costs. 360Commerce applications can run on a wide range of JVM-enabled operating systems including Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and IBM 4690. 360Commerce can still demonstrate more hardware and operating system choices than any other store solutions vendor to date.
"We have a close working relationship with IBM, which enables us to be one of the chosen few to test our applications on new hardware platforms before they are generally available," said Stephen Gannon, senior director of product management. "Through IBM’s early participation program, we had the opportunity to test our Point-of-Sale application on the new SurePOS 700 running on a variety of operating systems including Linux, Windows 2000 and IBM 4690. As expected, our application ran flawlessly on the new platform, further demonstrating the portability of our Java-based applications as well as the openness of IBM’s new SurePOS 700 family."
