Seeking 15 companies to donate excess inventory for disaster relief effort
ATLANTA (October 3, 2001) – Excess Technologies LLC, a unique inventory disposition service company, and Innotrac Corporation (NASDAQ:INOC), a full-service provider of customized order fulfillment, database management and call center services, have announced today they are offering free turnkey auction management services for up to 15 companies that participate in eBay’s “Auctions for America” program. The eBay program was developed with a goal of raising $100 million for disaster relief support for victims, their families and communities affected by the events of September 11th.
“Realizing that many manufacturers and merchants have excess inventory and would like to participate in ’Auctions for America’, yet don’t have the infrastructure or resources to do so, we are offering to facilitate the end-to-end auction process for them, which is our core business,” stated Joel Holtzman, president and CEO of Excess Technologies.
“We view this as a great opportunity to give back to the many families who have suffered so tragically from this event. Innotrac Corporation will offer up to 15 companies free fulfillment services for up to 500 donated products from each company, while our strategic partner, Excess Technologies, will create and manage the turnkey auction process,” stated Scott Dorfman, president and CEO of Innotrac.
Specific services that will be offered free to participating companies include bulk breakdown of product, warehousing, pick/pack, image capture, product description, template creation, ad posting, and payment reconciliation. Excess Technologies’ front end auction management system is seamlessly integrated into Innotrac’s back end fulfillment system.
Manufacturers or merchants that want to participate can contact Excess Technologies directly, at (770) 291-2026. These services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. There are some product restrictions and requirements, and participating companies must cover shipping expenses. All proceeds will be donated to disaster relief funds such as the Twin Towers and September 11th Fund through the eBay program.
