With EXceedTM, Wizards to Improve Order Turn Times —Helping Meet the Demand of Game Enthusiasts

Dallas, Texas—October 8, 2001 – EXE Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXEE), a leading supply chain execution solutions provider, announced today the second successful implementation of ExceedTM at Wizards of the Coast, the worldwide leading distributor of trading card game and tabletop role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering® TCGs, Pokéman and the just released Harry PotterTM. The Grand Prairie, TX distribution center, which manages fulfillment for the company’s 96 U.S. retail outlets, went live in March 2001 and expects to increase inventory accuracy, improve customer service and eliminate manual processes in the areas of replenishment and order picking.

Wizards chose the EXceed solution for its highly reliable picking, packing, shipping and replenishment capabilities. Also, EXceed has demonstrated its ability to help the company improve order turn times and inventory accuracy. As a result of the first implementation, Wizards is experiencing greater than 99 percent inventory accuracy in the distribution center, which manages fulfillment for more than 400 wholesale customers.

“With 220,000 total square feet to manage, we want to run like a fine-tuned machine,” stated Craig Jones, Logistics Manager, Wizards of the Coast. “We looked to EXE for a best-of-breed solution that would improve our customer service as well as create inventory accuracy. Our goal is to reduce the number of inventory counts we conduct each year. With EXceed, we believe we can do that.”

"Businesses seeking increased efficiencies throughout the extended supply chain will continue to turn to EXE," said Ken Powell, chief operating officer, EXE Technologies. "We’re committed to continuously enhance the functionality of our solutions so that we can extend relationships with customers like Wizards of the Coast."
