If it were a store, Bebe`s web site would be the biggest, the company says
Web sales at Bebe Stores Inc. grew 240% and exceeded sales of any store, the company reported today. It does not break out sales at its web site, but the company said including web sales in comparable store sales would reduce the decline in comparable store sales by 30%. Same store sales for December decreased 4.6% from December 2000. If web sales had been included, the decrease would have been 3.2%, the company says.
Chainwide sales at Bebe were $45.1 million in December, up 8.7% from $41.5 million in December a year earlier. Bebe operates 160 stores in the U.S. and Canada selling women’s apparel and accessories under the bebe, bbspand bebe moda brands.
