PETCO now selling on Shop.com

PETCO Animal Supplies Inc. is expanding its online sales channel. The multi-channel retailer, No. 170 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, now is selling online at Shop.com, an e-commerce portal. On Shop.com, retailers list their inventory, fulfill and process all orders, and receive a commission on each online sale. Shop.com captures the order information for each retailer.

“We’re creating another proven online channel for consumers to buy our premium products,” says PETCO vice president of e-commerce John Lazarchic.

PETCO will list about 8,200 products on Shop.com, including premium pet food, supplies, treats and toys. Other web and multi-channel retailers on Shop.com include Circuit City Stores Inc., Harry and David Holdings Inc., SmartBargains.com, Smith & Hawken, Hammacher Schlemmer & Co. Inc., and Target Corp. About 1,200 retailers now use Shop.com.
