Christian Raphael Joins Multimedia Live as Vice President Internet Strategy to Help Clients Improve Sales, Branding, Merchandising

Petaluma, CA -- October 9, 2001 -- Multimedia Live (MML) (http://www.mmlive.com), the leading developer of e-commerce technology and services for Intelligent Selling™ on the Web, announced today that Christian Raphael has joined MML as Vice President Internet Strategy. This new position is designed to increase client revenue by fusing marketing and merchandising best practices with e-commerce website development and implementation. MML is committed to providing world-class e-commerce Web development and service that combines expertise in retail and direct marketing practices. With his extensive career in the retail and direct marketing industries, Raphael is uniquely qualified to supplement the existing MML core team in its ability to add value to client sites.

Raphael joined MML in this new position expressly to help clients increase sales, strengthen Internet branding, and improve the productivity of clients’ Web merchandising operations. Specifically, Raphael will enhance MML’s full-time strategic support of new and existing clients in a number of vital areas:

Business strategy as it relates to Web initiatives
Outbound marketing strategy
Multi-channel integration
Data analysis
Online merchandising
Client staffing
Overall project planning
Post-launch refinement and innovation

Raphael has over 14 years of experience in the direct marketing and retail industries. He has held positions in marketing, merchandising and branding with diverse multi-channel industry leaders such as Williams-Sonoma, Eddie Bauer, West Marine, and Draper’s and Damon’s. Raphael also knows what e-commerce development is like from the client’s perspective, having managed the development of a major e-commerce initiative for a large multi-channel retailer and cataloger.

“Merchandisers are now realizing that successful e-commerce initiatives must not only be deeply integrated from a systems viewpoint, but also share the same functional vision across multiple corporate channels,” said Raphael. “This includes continuity in marketing, merchandising, customer service, and technology. Data from all channels must be carefully gathered, analyzed, and used to improve all aspects of the business. MML is uniquely positioned to help companies adapt to doing business on the Internet, and I look forward to being part of the team.”

“Our vision is to continue providing outstanding innovative technology on an ever-broadening foundation of industry knowledge,” said Ken Burke, President and CEO of Multimedia Live. “With Christian’s expertise augmenting MML’s strengths in technology, direct marketing, and retailing we will be better able to identify potential client needs, perhaps even before the client knows about them. The goal is to anticipate what is needed, and quickly put in place a complete, smoothly functioning system that truly meets the client’s requirements.”
