RESPONSYS UNDERGOES RIGOROUS THIRD-PARTY EXAMINATION; JOINS SELECT GROUP OF COMPANIES TO ACHIEVE SYSTRUST CYBERPROCESS CERTIFICATION

PALO ALTO, Calif. – October 16, 2001–Responsys, Inc., a pioneer in optimized interactive marketing solutions, today announced that the company has been awarded SysTrust™ CyberProcess Certification™ as a result of a rigorous third-party examination performed by Ernst & Young LLP.
This third-party certification provides reasonable assurance to Responsys customers that Responsys has established the necessary and appropriate processes, procedures, controls and infrastructure to meet service level agreement requirements in the areas of availability, security and maintainability. The examination was based on the SysTrust Principles and Criteria in these areas established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).

In Ernst & Young`s opinion, management’s assertion that Responsys maintained effective controls over the availability, security, and maintainability of the System to provide reasonable assurance that:
· the System was available for operation and use at times set forth in service-level statements or agreements,
· the System was protected against unauthorized physical and logical access, and
· the System could be updated when required in a manner that continued to provide for system availability and security
during the period July 30, 2001 to August 3, 2001, based on the availability, security and maintainability principles in the SysTrust Principles and Criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, is fairly stated in all material respects.
