AtomicPark.com keeps adding on the gear

Online computer software and gear retailer AtomicPark.com is once more expanding its online inventory.

Since June AtomicPark has been adding hardware and other equipment as it diversifies its inventory to attract a broader range of customers. The company is now offering desktop computers from IBM and Acer, laptops from Acer, IBM, and Toshiba and motherboards by Abit, Intel and MSI. AtomicPark.com is also offering systems and servers for customers who prefer to customize their computer systems.

AtomicPark started selling computer hardware in late June. The initial launch focused on internal and external hard drives, mid-to-high end video cards, and computer memory. AtomicPark.com followed that up by adding storage drives and devices, printers and CPUs. The company will be rolling out more hardware components over the course of the next few months. "We’re keeping in line with our mission to become a one-stop tech shop for our customers," says Jamil Wamubu, head of AtomicPark’s purchasing department.

AtomicPark now carries more than 5,000 SKUs online and sees the addition of hardware as key to generating more annual web sales, which in 2005 grew 62% to about $30 million. The company is No. 207 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
