J. Crew joins Newgistics’ ReturnValet service

Newgistics` ReturnValet returns service has added another client: apparel retailer J. Crew has signed a three-year contract. J. Crew will initially use Return Valet’s Quick Label program, which includes a pre-paid and pre-addressed shipping label enclosed with each package mailed to customers. J. Crew customers returning packages can simply attach the label to the package and drop it in the mail. Quick label’s “pre-authorization” makes it unnecessary for customers to wait for the merchant to authorize the return, or pay cash up front for product returns.

Later, J. Crew will also offer customers access to ReturnValet’s nationwide network of neighborhood pack-and-ship locations. Customers returning merchandise can drop their package off at the pack-and-ship locations, get a credit receipt and complete their return as they would in a store. ReturnValet gives J. Crew advance notice of the returns, expediting not only the physical processing of returns, but also credit and exchange transactions for the customers.

“We wanted to eliminate as many customer inconveniences as possible,” says Walter Killough, chief operating officer of J. Crew Group. “ReturnValet enhances our customer service while creating operational efficiencies and savings for J. Crew.”

Austin, TX- based Newgistics already provides its outsource ReturnValet service to the catalogs and web sites of retailers including Spiegel, Eddie Bauer, Newport News and Lillian Vernon.
