eVineyard names a new president and starts a search for retail-oriented CEO
EVineyard Inc., which operates wine.com, has named Harold E. Hughes as president. Hughes had been chief operating officer. He succeeds Larry J. Gerhard, who has been named chairman of the board. Gerhard will continue focusing on funding, M & A, and the development of strategic business opportunities.
In addition, Gerhard will chair a Search Committee, as part of the company’s efforts to find a highly recognized consumer retail-oriented CEO.
Hughes joined eVineyard as acting COO in October 2001. As president, Hughes will assume full management of business operations while developing growth management strategies. During a 26-year stint at Intel Corp., Hughes was treasurer and CFO, then moved into production as vice president of
planning and logistics. Most recently, Hughes was chairman and president of
Pandesic LLC, an e-commerce platform supplier owned jointly by Intel and SAP
AG.
