MyPublisher raises $8.9 million to fund its growth in online photography
MyPublisher, an online-only distributor of photo albums and design software for digital photographers, has raised $8.9 million in a new round of funding which the company says is needed to fund rapid growth.
Leading the funding round was New York-based private equity fund Mousse Partners, whose chairman, Charles Heilbronn is member of the MyPublisher board. “We have been very impressed with the growth of this company and how it has established a leadership position in this rapidly expanding category,” Heilbronn says.
Carl Navarre, MyPublisher founder and CEO, added, “We believe there is a considerable market opportunity in our category, and this funding will enable us to expand all aspects of our business and to meet the growing demand for our products and services.”
Founded in 1994, MyPublisher moved to online-only distribution in 2000. The company says its BookMaker software program has been downloaded over 2 million times and that it has printed over 120 million photos for consumers since 2005.
