Avenue A/Razorfish finds new digital advertising chief at Agency.com
Digital advertising agency Avenue A/Razorfish has named Chris Bowler as vice president of digital advertising in its Chicago office. As head of the digital advertising practice, Bowler will be responsible for leading practice development and delivering innovative digital banding and direct response solutions to the agency’s clients.
Previously, Bowler was media director for Agency.com, overseeing online media strategies in addition to leading the company’s search engine marketing practice. Bowler transitioned into digital media after working in traditional advertising earlier in his career, including 11 years with Mithun Esty Advertising in Minneapolis.
During that time, he led branding efforts in television and other traditional media while testing new media applications. Bowler managed his first online ad campaign in 1988 and his first new product launch on the web in 1996.
“Chris Bowler brings a practical knowledge of both traditional and digital media to our company and clients,” says Julie Roth Novack, Avenue A/Razorfish SVP and general manager of the Chicago office. “His demonstrated leadership and visionary approach to providing cutting-edge client solutions makes him a perfect addition to what is already acknowledged as a world class team of media strategists.”
