2007 Shutterfly revenue hits $186.7 million, a 51% increase over 2006


Revenue for online photography retailer Shutterfly Inc. totaled $186.7 million in 2007, an increase of 51% over $123.6 million in 2006. In the fourth quarter, revenue hit $97.5 million, a 49% increase over $65.4 million in Q4 2006.

“2007 marks another year of strong execution for Shutterfly,” says president and CEO Jeffrey Housenbold. “We delivered record growth in revenue, net income, customers and orders. Shutterfly continues to take advantage of the enormous markets for social expression and personal publishing.” Shutterfly is No. 93 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Personalized products and services revenue reached $105.3 million in 2007, a 69% increase over $62.3 million in 2006. They comprised 56% of total revenue in 2007. Such revenue comprised 64% of revenue in Q4, when it reached $61.9 million, up 55% from $40 million in Q4 2006.

Print revenue hit $81.4 million during 2007, a 34% increase over $60.7 million in 2006. Print revenue totaled $35.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2007, a 39% increase over $25.6 million during the fourth quarter of 2006.

Revenue from existing customers totaled 72% of total revenue in Q4 2007 compared with 74% for the year.

Average order value was $26.44 for 2007 compared with $24.16 for 2006. Average order value during the fourth quarter of 2007 was $36.80 compared with $35.72 for the fourth quarter of 2006.
