Lisa Silverman, a veteran of the information technology and telecommunications industries, has joined local search services company Localeze as vice president of market development. She will be responsible for product vision, project strategy and developing new services.
“Lisa has tremendous experience with helping merchants make use of leading-edge services and tools to build their online presence,” says Jeff Beard, Localeze president. “She will play a central role in enhancing the Localeze service suite and creating market-driven solutions that serve the needs of both merchants and national brand leaders.”
In her new role, Silverman will help launch the next version of Localeze’s Merchant Profile Manager Tool, which distributes information to search engines on behalf of merchants to raise their visibility in local search results. She also is charged with improving the packaging and use of Localeze’s taxonomy – the hierarchy of information containing the terms commonly used by merchants that allows them to link to consumer searches for terms and products. Silverman also will oversee the development of solutions that will give the Localeze distribution partner network improved access to relevant merchant content.
Prior to joining Localeze, Silverman was director of product management for total care at Internet service provider AOL where she led business, strategy, and product initiatives surrounding the delivery of a PC security offering. Previously she served as director of new product and partner marketing at Network Solutions and was executive director of conference marketing at WorldCom, a telecommunications company that merged with MCI Inc., which was later acquired by Verizon Communications.
