Apparel retailer bebe promotes Walter Parks to COO

Women’s apparel retailer bebe stores inc. is giving chief financial officer Walter Parks double duties.

In addition to serving as CFO, Parks is also bebe’s new chief operating officer in charge of finance and accounting, investor relations, planning and allocations, distribution and logistics, information technology, real estate and construction, corporate procurement and legal.

As COO, Parks will be in charge of all information technology initiatives, including bebe.com, the company’s e-commerce site. “During his time with the company Walter has been a strong partner to me and I look forward to our future success as we continue to position bebe to become a billion-dollar brand,” says CEO Greg Scott.

Parks has served as CFO since joining bebe in December 2003. The retailer is No. 258 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites .
