Target partners with Shutterfly to provide more photo options

Retail chain Target Corp. and web-only photo and publishing service Shutterfly Inc. are combining efforts to create an online photo service that will give Target shoppers more options for managing their photo needs.

“This partnership provides a first-of-its-kind retail channel for Shutterfly with one of the nation’s leading consumer brands, and we are delighted to have found in Target the ideal business partner to give consumers the quality experience they expect from Shutterfly,” says Jeffrey Housenbold, president and CEO of Shutterfly, which is No. 93 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Beginning May 30, Target will offer Shutterfly photo services through Targetphoto.Shutterfly.com. Shoppers will be able to upload and organize their photos online and access Shutterfly’s services to store, share and print their digital photos, and create gifts. Shutterfly customers also will be able to order prints online and send them to local Target stores where they can be picked up in as little as one hour.

Target shoppers also will be able to order prints online and pick them up in local Target stores within an hour; order Shutterfly products and receive them at home via mail delivery; and purchase Shutterfly ship-to-home products at select Target stores. Target is No. 19 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Shutterfly’s Photo Book product line and its greeting cards will be among the first ship-to-home products featured at select Target stores. In-store displays will offer gift ideas from Shutterfly.
