Supply Chain Solutions Provider to Power Leading Display Device Producer`s RFID Compliance
SHANGHAI and ATLANTA - January 11, 2006 - Leading supply chain solutions provider, Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ: MANH) announced today that PROVIEW International Limited, one of the world`s top display devices producers, has successfully implemented Manhattan Associates` RFID Solutions to support compliance at its manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China. By providing a solid, yet flexible foundation for RFID integration across PROVIEW with its Integration Manager and EPC Manager solutions, Manhattan Associates has enabled PROVIEW to meet the RFID mandates of one of its retail customers, Best Buy Co., Inc., ahead of schedule.
PROVIEW`s legacy system didn`t have the capability to handle RFID generated data and the EPC functionality required to meet the RFID-tagging mandate at its Shenzhen manufacturing facility. PROVIEW approached several international supply chain solution providers to identify the right solution-one that would provide low total cost of ownership and allow PROVIEW to easily scale the solution to support additional RFID equipment and production lines with very little help from the solution provider and with minimal impact on PROVIEW`s current processes.

Through the powerful capabilities of our RFID Solutions and Integration Manager for RFID, we were able to meet PROVIEW`s requirements. Manhattan Associates` solutions integrate with PROVIEW`s legacy system to provide complete visibility at a serial number level. Serial numbers and EPC numbers are stored in the system so that the user can easily cross-reference a serial number to its EPC number. The data is also integrated back to the legacy system to generate reports for internal use or Advance Shipment Notices (ASNs) for the retailer. In order to minimize the impact of the current process, new process flows incorporated the current shipping label with the RFID smart label, so no additional work is required to apply RFID labels. Additionally, the RFID-tagging process is portable to any production line in the facility. This gives PROVIEW the flexibility to conduct RFID-tagging at any available line. In addition to providing RFID solutions to PROVIEW, we also advised them on how to engage with the retailer by helping PROVIEW better understand RFID mandates and implementation strategies including the pros and cons of different RFID equipment.
