R/GA Announces Internal Changes Due to Company Growth
NEW YORK, Jan. 11 -- R/GA, the advertising agency for the digital age, today announced an internal reorganization to accommodate the rapid company growth. These changes are necessary because of an increase in work from existing clients and the addition of leading brands such as Johnson & Johnson and Nokia. To accommodate R/GA`s expanded client roster, R/GA`s employee base has grown by approximately 45 percent since 2004.
The initial changes will impact the senior management team, but the overall effect will allow greater flexibility and responsibilities for everyone else in the company. The people listed below have been instrumental in implementing the new agency model that integrates strategy and creativity to provide holistic, engagement-neutral solutions for clients.
* Chris Colborn, VP Interaction Design, is being promoted to EVP,
Worldwide Creative Director, a newly created position, where his
responsibilities include overseeing creative leadership on the global
Nokia account and other accounts as they arise in R/GA`s international
offices.
* Kip Voytek, Executive Creative Director, is being promoted to VP,
Managing Director, Interaction Design. Kip Voytek will replace Chris
Colborn as the head of Interaction Design, R/GA`s team of experience
designers.
* Anne Benvenuto, VP Strategy and Planning, is becoming EVP of Strategic
Services, the group dedicated to research, analytics and universal
planning.
* Barry Wacksman, VP Business Development, will continue to oversee all
new business in his role as EVP, Chief Growth Officer, as well as to
develop new strategies for the growth of R/GA.
* Chapin Clark, Creative Director is being promoted to VP, Managing
Director, Copy, and will continue to lead the extraordinary efforts of
our copy team.
* Dawn Winchester, VP Client Services is promoted to EVP, Client Services,
overseeing the quickly growing account management department.
* Karen Spiegel, Director of Corporate Communications, becomes SVP,
Managing Director, Marketing/Communications, and continues to foster
internal communications and to expand R/GA`s visibility externally.
* Kris Kiger, currently Executive Creative Director, is promoted to SVP,
Managing Director, Visual Design, and will continue to lead R/GA`s
award-winning visual design department.
* John Mayo-Smith, VP Technology, is promoted to EVP, Chief Technology
Officer, leading R/GA`s staff of technologists in developing new and
innovative solutions for clients.
* Stephen Plumlee, VP Production, is promoted to EVP, Production, and he
will continue to oversee the ever-growing Production Department, as well
as operational initiatives such as business continuity planning,
financial tracking, and R/GA`s digital studio.
In addition, R/GA expanded its New York campus by adding close to 16,000 square feet, at 333 West 39th Street, located across the street from its headquarters at 350 West 39th Street. The additional space provides the flexibility to have cross-disciplinary client teams collocated, which allows greater collaboration within the teams.
