RadioShack® Canada Chooses EXE Techologies` EXceed Fulfill to Increase Speed-to-Market
Dallas, Texas—October 25, 2001 – EXE Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXEE), a leading supply chain execution solutions provider, announced today that RadioShack Canada, the major operating division of InterTAN, Inc. (NYSE: ITN; TSE: ITA) has selected EXE`s EXceedTM Fulfill to improve inventory availability and increase the speed-to-market of its consumer electronics products.
"Constant changes/upgrades in electronics products means many items have relatively short shelf lives. Consequently, there is a need to quickly move these products from the production lines to the retail shelves. Additionally, seasonal demands (e.g., Christmas) create a need for greater inventory availability and improved fulfillment and distribution processes," explained Margo Weeks, vice president, information systems, RadioShack Canada. "EXE`s solution best matched our requirements for improved inventory availability and the ability to minimize inventory carrying costs and reduce stock-outs. By enhancing and streamlining our fulfillment processes, we expect improved customer service and a rapid return on investment."
EXceed WMS solution is further expected to help RadioShack:
reduce labor costs through the elimination of labor-intensive manual fulfillment processes;
increase inventory visibility throughout the distribution network and;
standardize their fulfillment operation on a best-of-breed application.
"We expect the EXceed technology platform to integrate easily with existing company systems, including, e-commerce, micro-merchandizing, store operations and accounting. The greatest benefit of the new supply chain execution solution will be product velocity and speed-to-market. We`re eager to get up and running," continued Weeks.
"An efficient supply chain will allow RadioShack to focus on its customers. By minimizing time-to-market through EXceed`s rich functionality, customers can expect prompt delivery and a highly satisfactory experience; and RadioShack can expect to maximize long-term customer loyalty and profitability," stated Ken Powell, president and chief operating officer, EXE Technologies. "This selection of EXE by RadioShack underscores our strength and expertise in the retail market space."
