Yahoo! Shopping Gets Personal
Yahoo! Inc. has added a personalized shopping service to its Yahoo!Shopping destination Web site. Designed to offer consumers a customized shopping experience, the My Shopping feature allows people to aggregate relevant purchasing information, personalized content, and their favorite stores in one centralized Web location. Similar to My Yahoo!, consumers can choose and customize different modules to include in their My Shopping service, says Santa Clara, Calif.-based Yahoo!.
Once registered for Yahoo!, people can click on the My Shopping link on the front page of Yahoo! Shopping to begin customizing their own shopping page. Consumers can then add information and tools from thirteen modules to their personal page, organize the layout and edit the content.
Some of the modules that can be added include:
Recent Orders: People can track order history and status and find customer service information.
Yahoo! Wallet: Consumers store billing, shipping and credit card information once and can use it again at thousands of Yahoo! Shopping merchants.
My Stores: Shoppers can access their favorite merchants.
Products You Might Like: Presents personally relevant products to consumers.
Special Offers: Bargain hunters find sales and offers from trusted merchants.
Gift Registry: Shoppers can keep tabs on their personal wish lists.
Editor's Picks: Yahoo! Shopping's merchandising team guides consumers to gifts, products and fashions.
Yahoo! Points: Consumers can keep track of the points they earn on Yahoo! Shopping and redeem them for gift certificates from participating merchants, or use them to bid on special auctions.
