Silicon Valley veteran Massaro named new Sendmail CEO
Donald J. Massaro has joined Sendmail Inc. as president and CEO and will be responsible for strategic planning and execution and corporate leadership in establishing Sendmail as a leader in the content security market, the company has announced.
Massaro, who has more than 30 years experience in building and managing public and privately held technology companies, most recently served as CEO and cofounder of Reconnex Corp., a provider of content-monitoring security appliances.
“Most of the world’s most complex messaging infrastructures in operation today rely on Sendmail products and services,” Massaro contends. “I am excited to join Sendmail at a time when companies are beginning to develop more complex security and compliance requirements in order to secure the content entering and leaving their organizations.”
Massaro was founder and CEO of Metaphor Computer System, which developed and marketed high-end client-server data interpretations to large corporations. IBM acquired Metaphor in 1991. He also previously served as CEO of Silicon Gaming, a company that developed an advanced multimedia gaming platform.
