Emerald Solutions Inc. announced today that it has developed a secured smart card purchasing solution for 1st eTech, a provider of smart card and secure Internet services. 1st eTech will plans to offer smart card purchasing options that could eventually include the ability to inspect products upon delivery before payment is released. 1st eTechÕs smart card secure payment services allows consumers to select whether the merchant is paid after the product is shipped, once it is received, or after the products have been inspected by the consumer. Once a consumer makes a purchase 1st eTech reserves the amount of the purchase from the smart card and holds it in escrow until payment is released, which the company says guarantees payment for the merchant.
