Priceline stocks up on groceries

Priceline's WebHouse Club has added 120 Key Food Stores to its "name your price" grocery service.

The WebHouse Club allows customers to shop the lowest price for hundreds of grocery items. Members choose from more than 140 categories representing more than 600 national brands. After naming their price, customers can pick up their items at their choice of more than 1,000 participating stores in the New York metro area including New York, New Jersey, and southwestern Connecticut.

Priceline says the service, launched Nov. 1, saves customers an average of $12 per order, which is five times the average savings when customers use coupons. In just two weeks of operation, the company says club members have named their price for more than 250,000 grocery items.

In addition to Key Food Stores of Brooklyn, other grocery retailers supporting the service include A&P, ShopRite, Waldbaums, FoodTown, King Kullen, Stop & Shop, D'Agostino, Grand Union and Pathmark.
