Oriental Trading Co., one of the largest direct retailers of party supplies, gifts and home décor, has formed a search committee to look for a new CEO. Former CEO Stephen Frary who had led the company since 2000 left Nov. 30 to pursue other interests, according to a company spokesman.
While a search is underway, the two executives who are overseeing operations at Oriental Trading are Steve Mendlik, senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Robert Goldsmith, senior vice president of marketing and merchandising, according to Mitchell.
Oriental Trading, which is No. 45 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, operates OrientalTrading.com and TerrysVillage.com and distributes millions of direct order catalogs each year.
The Omaha-based company was purchased by private equity firm The Carlyle Group in 2006.
