Sharper Image's Net sales grow 116% from November '99 to November'00
Internet sales for Sharper Image Corp. increased 116% in November over November 1999, while total sales grew 24%, the company reported today. Internet sales totaled $9 million vs. $4.2 million a year ago. Total company sales in November were $48.7 million. Store sales grew 25% in November to $26.3 million while catalog sales increased 15% to $12.7 million. The balance of sales were to wholesale customers. For the first 10 months of the year, Sharper Image's Internet sales increased 160% to $41.7 million from last year's $16.1 million. Total Company sales were up 46% to $284.3 million. "Our customers have had a very positive reaction to our redesigned Web site. They seem to appreciate the new tools including the Dynamic Browser that allows them to quickly view lots of related products on a rotating basis. We're confident that we will exceed our beginning of the year goal of more than $60 million of Internet sales. This would be more than double the Internet sales of $28.5 million achieved last year," said Richard Thalheimer, founder, chairman and chief executive officer.
