Whoopi For Flooz, Egghead & Amazon

Internet-only Visa issuer NextCard Inc. released a list of the top 10 electronic-commerce sites for the holiday shopping period of November 15 through December 31. NextCard ranks sites based on its cardholdersâ transaction volume. There were no big surprises, as Seattle-based Amazon .com Inc.; Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Buy.com Inc.; and New York City-based Barnesandnoble.com Inc. rounded out the top three. San Francisco-based NextCard also revealed average purchase prices on the sites. Egghead.com was the leader among the top ten for that category with an average $144.51 sale. Amazon.comâs average purchase was $36. NextCard also ranked the 10 sites that show the largest percentage change in transaction volume. Flooz.com, the online cash alternative, posted the second largest gain, at 890%, due in part to a massive ad campaign featuring actress Whoopi Goldberg.
