Make Room For GaZoom
GaZoom.com has launched a Web site with a "hybrid" online/offline business model The new site "uses the Internet to support national and local businesses rather than to compete with them," says New York City-based GaZoom, which links its own Internet presence with the physical locations of its retail partners.
"Subscription based direct Internet marketing" is the term GaZoom.com uses to describe its approach to communicating the company's deals to its customers. Members purchase a membership kit for $20.
Businesses are contacted by one of GaZoom.com's currently 75 Business Builders, who recruit them to offer savings on products or services. Following the discount shopping club model, these exclusive deals are made available to GaZoom.com's members, who have paid an annual membership fee, the company says. Presently, deals include savings on vacation packages, hotel accommodations, video rentals, car rentals and more.
Cooperating businesses are rewarded for their participation, says GaZoom, by having their deal made available to GaZoom.com's growing membership group of deal-seekers. Businesses can profit, it says, by reaching a larger group of potential customers than they could on their own. They are also "spared" the cost of developing their own Web presence, if they do not already have one, the company says.
All deals available through GaZoom.com are posted to the company's Web site and can be searched by its members, and current deals are e-mailed to members according to categories they select, says GaZoom.
