Amazon Gets Cozy with Living.com
Amazon.com announced it will add a home furnishing store to its product lineup by acquiring an 18% stake in Living.com. Under the agreement, Living.com will pay Amazon $145 million over five years for the right to be the exclusive Amazon domestic-goods store. Living.com sells furniture, bedding, home textiles, window treatments and other domestic products. Amazon, which began as a book seller, has expanded its product line in recent months to include software, video games and toys. Last month Amazon bought stake in Drugstore.com.
