A's Top The List

Visa issuer NextCard Inc., San Francisco, published its January eCommerce Index, a ranking of online retailers gathered from the purchasing behavior of approximately 100,000 NextCard holders. The top two merchants, Amazon.com Inc. and America Online Inc., remain unchanged from December. Barnesandnoble.com Inc. and CDnow Inc. rose slightly. Other gainers included Internet service providers and software companies. On the downside, online toy retailers eToys Inc., KBKids.com and Sears Roebuck & Co. posted the largest transaction volume drops, of between 83% and 87%.
