Mondosoft Acquires Taxonomy Software Provider Navigo Systems
New Enterprise Solutions Integrate Ontolica and BehaviorTracking for SharePoint
Copenhagen, Denmark & Palo Alto, California - February 2, 2006 -- Mondosoft, a pioneer in Enterprise Search and Behavior Analytics, today announced that it has acquired Navigo Systems A/S, a privately held search and taxonomy software provider specialized in optimizing Microsoft SharePoint solutions.
The two companies intend to maintain the Navigo Systems product line and enhance it with analytics capabilities stemming from Mondosoft`s BehaviorTracking technology. The acquisition will support Mondosoft`s existing product offering with SharePoint focused tools and reinforce the company`s existing .NET development assets. The acquisition extends Mondosoft position in the large enterprise market, while Mondosoft gives Ontolica broader access to customers in Europe, the U.S. and Asia-Pacific.
Navigo Systems produces Ontolica, a cutting-edge taxonomy toolset that develops a conceptual spine to define and classify an organization`s relevant information into a highly useful knowledge model. Navigo Systems enterprise customers include Hewlett Packard, Honeywell, Simcorp and the U.S. Congress. A bundled version of Ontolica and BehaviorTracking for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server is already shipping and has been implemented by enterprise customers Honeywell and TDC.
"The decision to partner with Navigo Systems has proven to be one of the best choices we made. They are extremely proficient in search-related SharePoint technologies and have been exceptional at translating business requirements into solid product features. When approached to consider integrating Ontolica with Mondosoft BehaviorTracking, their response once again demonstrated commitment to establishing strong partnership that deliver value to their customers" said Sam Wilson, Intranet Program Manager at Honeywell.
The two companies have already successfully integrated their respective technologies in a number of customized SharePoint Portal Server installations providing Boolean, wildcard and WSS cross-site search and other features that support and improve the effectiveness of the standard SharePoint search functionality.
"The combined companies will provide a deeper, more effective search and knowledge modelling experience for enterprises through Microsoft SharePoint technologies", said Laust Sondergaard, Mondosoft CEO. "Mondosoft customers and enterprises who plan to migrate to Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server can expect an accelerated migration process and optimization of the SPS search engine".
"We are pleased to join Mondosoft`s vision for better corporate information retrieval and access. Our products and our commitment to the Microsoft platform are an excellent match, and we are excited by the opportunities that lie ahead", commented former Navigo CEO Kent Sorensen, now EVP at Mondosoft.
