E*Trade, Egghead Cook Up Deal

Online brokerage firm E*Trade Group Inc., Menlo Park, Calif., has formed a marketing alliance with Internet-based computer products retailer Egghead.com that will give Egghead.com visitors who open a new E*Trade account a $100 gift certificate good toward any Egghead.com purchase. Beginning in February 2000, the offer will be accessible through promotional advertising banners on both the Egghead.com Web site and on Egghead.com customer emails, the companies say. Egghead.com, also based in Menlo Park, also sells and auctions electronics, jewelry, travel packages and sporting goods at its We site, as well as offering tax preparation services.
