Styleclick sees 4Q revenue spike amid 1999 decline
Online shopping network Styleclick.com says its fourth quarter revenue reached $839,000, up 46% from the prior quarter, while its net loss dipped slightly to $5.9 million.
For the year ended Dec. 31--Styleclick's first with Web operations--Internet revenue amounted to $1.62 million. The company reported overall 1999 revenue of $6.17 million, down nearly 8%. It attributed the decrease to lower sales of consumer CD-ROM products, as it shifted to Internet sales.
In January, Styleclick.com. and USA Networks Interactive, a division of USA Networks, announced plans to merge USA's Internet Shopping Network and Styleclick.com. The new company will operate FirstAuction.com, FirstJewelry.com and Styleclick.com's network of branded e-commerce web sites. The new company will take the Styleclick name and will target both consumer and business-to-business sales.
