Home Décor Products opens up blinds

Home Décor Products Inc. has reached an agreement to purchase all of the assets of NationBlinds.com from interactive retail company The Merrick Group. This marks a milestone in Home Décor’s growth, which now has established its tenth online home-improvement and décor retail business.

NationBlinds.com offers all types of window shades including wood, faux wood, cellular, woven wood and bamboo, aluminum, roller, roman, and pleated. The e-commerce site, first launched by The Merrick Group in November 2005, offers such services online as measuring and custom fitting window furnishings.

“For a long time, Home Décor Products has viewed the window furnishings category as a strategic growth opportunity,” says Michael Golden, CEO. “Through the acquisition of NationBlinds.com we have been able to significantly speed up our entry into the market.”

Home Décor Products, No. 107 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, plans to expand NationBlinds.com by including product lines from some of the largest brands in the blinds industry and by adding a wallpaper category.
