Petopia Puts on a Show

In an attempt to break out of the pack of online pet supply retailers, Petopia.com will launch the Petopia.com Show, a weekly series on shopping network ValueVision's SnapTV. The first of these live, one-hour shows featuring pet-related education, entertainment and shopping will be broadcast April 13. The show also will be an interactive event, appearing on ValueVision's TV and Internet channels. Future shows will be simulcast on Petopia.com.

     The companies say they will use e-mail marketing, displays in PETCO stores nationwide and a direct mail campaign to draw customers to the events. Dr. Marty Becker, a popular veterinarian and media personality and co-author of Chicken Soup for the Cat & Dog Lover's Soul, will make regular appearances on the show.
