AOL, Ritz Camera to Cross-Market
America Online, specialty chain Ritz Camera and Phobo.com have entered a marketing alliance that will make ritzcamera.com, boatersworld.com and other Phobo.com sites available across various AOL brands, along with promoting AOL products and services through Ritz Camera Centers and Phobo.com.
Under the five-year alliance, photo, video and digital products from Ritzcamera.com, Phobo.com's flagship site, will be marketed to AOL and CompuServe members as well as visitors to AOL.com, Netscape Netcenter and Spinner. The site also will have prominent placement on AOL's various Shop@ channels. In turn, Ritz stores and Ritzcamera.com will promote AOL as its exclusive service provider. Ritz Camera will also distribute free AOL CD-ROMs at more than 1,000 stores nationwide.
AOL and Ritz also will work together to provide AOL's "You've Got Pictures" service through Ritz Camera locations. The service will allow AOL members to drop off film from any camera at a Ritz location and have their pictures delivered directly to their AOL accounts.
