Widening its reach yet again beyond books, music and videos, Amazon.com has launched a new lawn and patio store. The new store will feature thousands of products--from grills to patio furniture, birdfeeders to lawn mowers. Shopping categories include birds and wildlife, clothing and gear, decoration and lighting, furniture, outdoor cooking, ponds and structures, pots and planters, power equipment, seeds and fertilizer, storage and cleanup, tools, watering, and weed and pest control.
In an attempt to allay fears about shipping heavy goods, the Web superstore is charging only $4.95 to ship lawn and patio orders, regardless of size.
