TheSavingsMall Casts A Discount Net
SHC Direct is launching a new online discount service called TheSavingsMall.com, an e-commerce version of a program it marketed to major bank cardholders over the past two years.
According to Jeffrey T. Harris, president of the Downers Grove, lll.-based enhancement supplier, customers will be given a Visa card number valid only for use within the Savings Mall merchant network, which at present comprises some 40 online merchants, backed by their credit card of choice. Merchants offer a standard 10% off the total bill, including shipping, for all purchases made through the network, and forward the transaction to SHC, which, in turn, receives authorization on the customer's "real" card, then authorizes the Savings Mall transaction.
