Provide Commerce gets a CFO from Merrill Lynch

Provide Commerce Inc., online retailer of flowers and gourmet food, has named Eric Carlborg as chief financial officer. The company has not employed a person in the CFO role since prior to going public in December 2003.

Carlborg most recently served as managing director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co. in Palo Alto, CA, where he was responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining investment banking relationships with technology companies, financial sponsors and financial institutions. His other experience includes serving as chief financial officer for technology and consumer companies, including Ikano Communications Inc., Authorize.Net, and Einstein Noah Bagel Corp.

Carlborg also serves on the board of directors and as a member of the audit committee for online jeweler Blue Nile Inc..
