Electronics Site Sets Same-Day Delivery

Outpost.com, an e-retailer of high-end consumer electronics, has begun offering same-day delivery in more than 20 markets for $99. The company already offers free overnight delivery. "Our overnight free delivery is driving tremendous repeat customers," says Bob Bowman, president and CEO of Outpost.com. "With this new service, we address the critical needs of our busines-to-business customers and others who require products the same day."

     Outpost.com says the same-day delivery option is available on orders placed by 10:30 a.m. EST for delivery in Chicago; Detroit; Milwaukee; St. Louis; Minneapolis; Pittsburgh, Pa.; New York; Memphis, Tenn.; Miami; Orlando, Fla.; Houston; Dallas/Fort Worth; Boston; Phoenix; Salt Lake City; Charlotte, N.C.; San Francisco; Denver; Los Angeles; Atlanta; and Washington, D.C. The cost is $99 for packages weighing up to 25 pounds.

     Outpost.com also will implement a retrieval service for product returns at a cost of $10 per order. "Customers who buy products over the Internet have long complained about the inconvenience involved with returning products," says Bowman. "Effective immediately we are offering to have returns picked up at our customers homes or places of business."
