MARKETWORKS LAUNCHES NEW ORDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
New Automation and Customization Streamlines Order Processes and
Expands Volume Capacity
ATLANTA (February 16, 2006) – Marketworks, a multi-channel e-commerce solution provider, today announced its new best-in-class Order Management System that enables online merchants to customize and automate their order process to manage large order volumes with minimal staff. In addition, Marketworks sellers can dramatically cut time and costs of shipping with ShipWorks, an integrated solution that Marketworks offers through its partner, Interapptive.
A key element of Marketworks’ e-commerce software, the new Order Management System automates functions across a seller’s entire workflow, such as customer e-mail notifications, creation of pick and pack lists, and tracking when payments are received or orders are shipped, thus allowing them to handle increased order volumes. With the new technology, they will be able to locate individual orders, edit them and track and manage individual packages quickly.
Customer response from initial pilot programs has proven to be very positive. “Using the new order management system, we were able to process 2.5 times the sales volume over the holidays compared to last year, without increasing our customer support or packing staff,” said Vijay Bala, operations manager of Entertainment House, an Australian company that is currently using Marketworks to sell DVDs in Australia and the UK.
“The launch of this premier order management system is well-timed in light of the continued rapid growth of e-commerce and softer sales outlook cited last month at the National Retail Federation (NRF) Show,” said Ken Powell, Chief Executive Officer of Marketworks. “No other eBay solution, let alone multi-channel e-commerce solution, provides as comprehensive an order management system.”
Additional unique features of the Order Management System include:
• An easy-to-use interface that provides one-click access to orders at various stages of the process, powerful search capabilities, collapsible sections on pages, and more
• Robust notification functionality, which enables sellers to set up automatic emails to buyers on the status of payment, order and shipping
• Custom flags and statuses that enable sellers to mark and track orders in various stages of their order process
• Export features that provide the option of scheduling exports to run automatically
Managing and shipping large order volumes is further simplified by ShipWorks, which instantly passes data to leading shipping solutions, Endicia, Stamps.com and UPS WorldShip, and includes built-in UPS Online® Tools. This integration allows Marketworks sellers to easily print shipping labels and postage and create professional invoices, without the time-consuming process of downloading, editing and uploading files.
"The ShipWorks solution pays for itself in multiples,” says Eddie Bieker, owner of BiekersSneakers.com a Marketworks customer. “What used to take us two hours a day, now takes about 20 minutes and we are consequently saving significant dollars per month in man hours.”
