Redesigned Tommy Hilfiger site features customized jeans

An online program that allows shoppers to customize the fit and style of men's and women’s chinos and jeans is a new feature of the re-launched Tommy Hilfiger site.

The redesigned site also offers expanded product categories, including menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, related accessories, fragrances and home products. The original site—www.tommy.com—offered only golf wear, watches and perfumes when it launched late last year.

The custom-design program—found at custom.tommy.com—enables shoppers to select fit, fabric, color, style and other elements when buying jeans and chinos. Each step and style option has a detailed color photograph showing the exact selection.

After selecting styling points, the customer answers key measurement questions, such as height and weight. The company then manufactures the clothing to meet those specifications. “Everything is how you like it,” a spokeswoman says. “We’re completely customizing everything.”

If the item doesn’t fit, the customer can return it, revise her profile, and reorder, she says. Items can be returned for any reason within 60 days for a refund or credit.
