E-Stuff It To Me
Online financial software provider Home Account will enable its clients to include electronic bill stuffers in their customers' online statements. Everyville, Calif.-based Home Account has partnered with Inktomi Corp., Foster City, Calif., which will provide the electronic shopping platform that will allow credit card accountholders who access their statements over the Internet to click on an offer and be transferred to the relevant merchant site to make a purchase. Issuers then receive a referral fee for each customer who makes a purchase as a result of the bill stuffer. While no clients have been signed yet to offer the service, Vice President of Card Programs Henry T. Tseui claims that Home Account is in discussion with several pilot prospects. He predicts that the first stuffers will appear this fall.
