Web Sales Make a Point at Sharper Image

Sharper Image Corp., San Francisco, says its first-quarter Internet sales soared 261% over last year, reaching $8.4 million compared to $2.3 million for the same period in 1999. Overall, the company reported first-quarter earning's per share of 1 cent, its first profitable first period since going public in 1987. For the period ended April 30, total revenue amounted to $59.1 million, up 45% from last year's $40.9 million.
