Limited Brands rolls out a new e-commerce site

Limited Brands Inc., which owns Victoria’s Secret, is opening a new web store for Bath & Body Works, another chain. Details are still being worked on, but the new BathandBodyworks.com is scheduled to open Oct. 17. “The site will carry more than 500 gifts and gift sets,” a Limited spokeswoman says.

A new web store for Bath & Body Works, a multi-channel brand with 1,570 stores, is part of a larger makeover for the chain. “BathandBodyworks.com will expand direct response capabilities and provide an important new channel for growth,” Limited, No. 53 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, says in a recent earnings statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

When it is operational, the new site will offer an array of natural body and hair care products, including aromatherapy merchandise. The new site will also feature an interactive registry that shoppers can use to customize gift-related purchases and preferences. “The site will be visually arresting and easy-to-navigate,” the spokeswoman says.
