E-Retailers Target ATM Users

Food.com, San Francisco, is renewing an advertising deal on select Wells Fargo & Co. ATMs after the Internet food company experienced sales growth through ATM promotions, says John Nicholson, vice president of marketing and new products for Wells' ATM division. E-mail marketer Emazing.com will begin testing on June 1 an ATM ad campaign on 100 ATMs in St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Cleveland, says Michael Szimanski, president of Baltimore-based ATM Advertising Inc. The promotion will use still images and receipt coupons, which will have a trivia question printed on them that computer users can later answer by logging on Emazing.com's Web site. By answering correctly, a consumer could win Sony merchandise. Conshohocken, PA-based Half.com, which specializes in selling music, movies and books, is using about 700 Cleveland-based KeyBank ATMs in ARCO gas station/convenience stores in California for a campaign that involves the distribution of receipt coupons with codes printed on them. Consumers can get free shipping by entering the code while ordering from Half.com's Web site.
