Browser-based, Cross-channel Suite Adds Real-Time Centralized View and Management Options for Improved Customer Service and Business Decisions

Austin, Texas (January 10, 2002) - 360Commerce, a leading provider of integrated commerce software for retailers, today announced the March availability of their 360Store™ browser-based Back Office R1.0 and cross-channel Point-of-Sale R5.0. A preview of the new features will be shown at the National Retail Federation 91st-Annual Conference and Exposition in New York City, January 13-16 in 360Commerce’s booth #649.

Capitalizing on the falling costs of communication bandwidth, 360Store applications are designed to enable retailers to profit from the power of real time. At the check out, Point-of-Sale R5.0 adds customer-centric services such as cross-store inventory lookup, customer purchase history retrieval that complements the current features such as reserve on the web/pickup in the store and access to the retailer’s web site. The new browser-based Back Office can reside and be accessed from anywhere including the manager’s office, at the point-of-service, at the corporate office, or even from home. This implementation allows store managers to spend more time at the front of the store, where they can better oversee customer service, instead of in the back office.

“The hyper-competitive, economically challenged retail environment demands a solution that synchronizes the stores, all channels and the enterprise in real time to optimize store profitability,” said Christine Lowry, Chief Marketing Officer of 360Commerce. “At 360Commerce, we pride ourselves on consistently setting the standard for research and the quick delivery of new applications and functionality that meet the demands of the next key advantage retailers need. We hit the mark with multi-channel solutions and then with integrated commerce, and we believe that enterprise-wide, real-time capabilities will be the next strategic move for a competitive advantage in retail. We call this real-time synchronization Retail Fusion™, and the functionality we’re announcing in these two products is just the beginning.”

“Today’s more cost-effective bandwidth enables the synchronization of all of the components of a retailer’s operations in real time to improve overall operational efficiency and provide a centralized deployment option with a high ROI potential,” said Jerry Rightmer, Chief Technology Officer of 360Commerce. “Add this real-time capability and the enterprise relationship piece to our flexible applications and architecture, and a retailer can have more than just a store system solution. They can have a true integrated commerce model in place that offers the freedom-of-choice for best-of-breed or integration.

About 360Store Point-of-Sale
360Commerce’s Point-of-Sale software allows retailers to give their customers increased options at the point-of-service including "best deal" pricing, preferred customer discounts, special order, layaway, and gift registry validation. In addition, instant-gratification services such as fulfillment of web-generated orders, processing of returns for items purchased on the web, and save-the-sale functionality such as cross-store inventory look up and access to the retailer’s web site are included. The optional Unleashed™ module gives retailers the ability to bring POS functionality to the customer. This wireless, browser-based version of our Point-of-Sale application will allow retailers to reduce the time customers wait in line during peak traffic periods, cost-effectively service seasonal areas inside and outside the store, or stay connected with the customer throughout a multi-item purchase.

360Store Back Office
360Commerce`s browser-based Back Office application offers the capability of managing stores from anywhere. This flexible application allows retailers to take care of business where it is needed, at the front register, on the back-office PC, from home, or at the enterprise. Back Office features include start- and end-of-day operations, item, price and promotional events maintenance, security, store configuration, and an integrated reporting package to share data across the enterprise.
