Manhattan Associates and JDA Software Announce Worldwide Strategic Alliance to Integrate Advanced Demand Chain Solutions
NEW YORK - January 14, 2002 - Manhattan Associates (Nasdaq: MANH), the global leader in providing extended supply chain execution (x-SCE) solutions, and JDA® Software Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS), the leading global provider of integrated software and professional services to retailers and their suppliers, today announced a worldwide strategic alliance that combines Manhattan Associates` leadership in extended supply chain execution solutions with the strength of JDA`s best-of-class retail merchandising solutions.
Announced at the National Retail Federation`s Annual Convention and Expo, the companies` plans for their first joint technology offering include the development of standard interfaces between PkMS®, Manhattan Associates` leading supply chain execution solution, and JDA Portfolio™ client/server merchandising system, ODBMS®. A formal alliance was a natural extension of the relationship between JDA and Manhattan Associates as the two companies have been servicing mutual clients - including The Sports Authority, Cabela`s Incorporated, American Eagle and Casual Corner Group - for the last two years. As a result of the agreement, joint customers will be able to capitalize on planning, merchandising and extended supply chain execution functionality from a single, integrated suite of solutions. Besides best-of-breed functionality, the benefits for customers will include faster implementations, reduced risks due to the development of standard interfaces and lowered long-term cost of ownership.

Under the terms of the agreement, Manhattan Associates and JDA will work with mutual clients to develop, maintain and support a standard tool set to ensure ease of integration between the two companies` solutions. In addition to seamless integration, the tool set will provide joint clients with ongoing upgradeability and the support necessary to integrate PkMS with JDA`s merchandise management system, ODBMS. Since the tool set will be maintained with each release, customers can sustain a lower cost of ownership over time. As part of the contract, Manhattan Associates and JDA will also engage in joint sales and marketing activities.
