ICC Launches Web-based ICC.CATALOG Aimed at the Retail Industry
NEW YORK – January 15, 2002 – Internet Commerce Corporation (ICC) (Nasdaq: ICCA), a leader in the e-commerce business-to-business communication services market, today launched ICC.CATALOG, a innovative U.P.C./EAN catalog system for vendors and retailers. The initial launch will consist of a rollout to the trading community of a $450 million U.S.-based retailer.
“ICC.CATALOG is just another example of ICC’s commitment to delivering value added products and services to our customers,” said G. Michael Cassidy, ICC’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our customers were immediately impressed with the manner in which the ICC.CATALOG displays images of vendor products along with the associated U.P.C./EAN information. This functionality allows suppliers to showcase their products effortlessly.
Mr. Cassidy continued, “Both the retailer and the vendor can access the ICC.CATALOG worldwide via the Internet. It was developed as a web-based application with the capability of immediate on-line product information updates by vendors, as well as use of the traditional EDI Price /Sales Catalog document.
“Importantly, the catalog insures data integrity and synchronization between trading partners to streamline the communication of product information within the entire supply chain. It is fully compliant with retail/EDI industry standards. As is customary with all of ICC’s products and services, there is no software to purchase, and customers can take advantage of significant cost-savings and efficiencies as they communicate information through our powerful ICC.NET network, concluded Mr. Cassidy”
