WILLOWBROOK, Ill., Jan. 15, 2002 – R.R. Donnelley Logistics has named mailing industry veteran Gerald A. Pappa vice president of postal affairs. Pappa’s primary responsibilities include furthering the company’s partnership with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to benefit mailers and direct marketers.
“Donnelley Logistics is committed to easing the impact of rising postal rates for our customers,” said Pappa. “As we help the postal service increase operational efficiencies and streamline business processes, our customers will benefit because the end-to-end delivery system will be more economical and reliable.”
Pappa’s background includes logistics planning, supply chain management and redesign, and direct marketing strategy development for major retailers. Most recently, Pappa was vice president of logistics planning with The Home Shopping Network. He has worked closely with the USPS to reduce delivery time to consumers and has been instrumental in implementing technology solutions that make it easier for customers to follow their packages throughout the delivery network.
For his work, Pappa has twice been named a recipient of the USPS National Special Achievement Award. Pappa currently serves as a member of the Mail Order Fraud Task Force, the Postal Technology Shippers Council and the Board of Directors of the Parcel Shipping Association.
