Retailers Using Blue Martini eCRM Applications Report Record-Breaking Online Holiday Sales

SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 18 -- Blue Martini Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLUE) today announced that retailers using Blue Martini eCRM applications to power their online commerce sites, reported record-breaking online sales during the 2001 holiday season.

Highlights from quarterly financial reports of some Blue Martin Software retailing customers include:

-- Bebe, operator of 152 retail stores through-out North America, reported that its online store, was its highest volume store in December generating a sales increase of more than 240 percent versus December 2000.
-- Canadian Tire, the most shopped retailer in Canada, reported its online channel showed strong growth, with traffic up 70 percent. Traffic and sales rose in November and December consecutively, reinforcing the Web store`s key role as a vehicle for customers to access Canadian Tire both for product research and purchase.
-- Virgin Wines, a subsidiary of the Virgin Group, reported that between November 1 and December 24, 2001 it shipped almost 500,000 bottles of wine compared with around 125,000 bottles in the same period last year.

Blue Martini Software customers achieved results in line with the Jupiter Media Metrix January 2002 study which showed that an average of 51.3 million unique visitors shopped online each week during the 2001 holiday-shopping season (week ending Nov. 25 through week ending Dec. 23), up 50 percent compared with the 2000 holiday-shopping season and up 95 percent vs. 1999.
